M&R’s wedding was the very end of May. I was very excited to attend because it was a backyard reception. My kids had a great time and the couple was very much in love.

Miss G and I waiting for the couple to arrive

They had a cute entrance with the Star Wars soundtrack and the wedding party with light sabers.

Tiki torches lined the area where the tables were located.

Mr B and I already know who will be making our invitations, that part is decided. My friend Lisa Nickle at Mementos is a fabulous invitation designer and is also an Envelopments dealer/designer! We don’t go in to meet with her until next month but I want to show off a few invitation suites that I am currently drooling over:

{all images from Envelopments website}

and I think I like Envelopments Kaleidoscope pattern – it reminds me of sunflowers … what do you think?

As for our colors, I need to see the options in person before I make any decisions. There will be blue, champange and either a gold or another “sunflower”ish color.

How did you decide who to use for your invitations?

Here in our “not a small town, not yet a big city” there have not been any bridal events in at least a year or so. While lots of people get married in town, there just doesn’t seem to be a “bridal industry” here. A new event planning business in town is trying to help stir up this small city.

Last Friday Laurie of Circle The Date put together a Bridal Open House at the Holiday Inn. Mr B, Little A and Miss G came with me. There was about 20+ various vendors. Since we have a lot of friendors already there really wasn’t much for us, but I did take some pictures:

out front, the kids really wanted to get in the limo, Mr B wants to rent it for his bachelor party

Miss G checking out the candy buffet that Circle The Date set up.

This looks like my idea of a fun bachelorette party!

Laurie also set up a few adorable tablescapes, this was my favorite:

I was also introduced to a new photographer that I didn’t know in town. Her booth was SUPER cute and I have already added her blog to my google reader. Her name is Kim Garcia. Go take a look … I’ll wait!
back?? Ok great! Did you see this photo from her booth:

I need to figure out how she did this …. it was AMAZING!

Have you attended any Bridal Events during your engagement? Did you meet a lot of vendors or just go for the wedding porn?

This was one of the classiest bridal showers I have attended in a long time. The bride’s colors are simply black & white. There is no “pop” of color … just black and white. Her wedding is May 22nd so I will be sure to have some pictures from then as well.

The shower was set up in the home of a friend and had multiple tables set up around the dining room and living room for everyone to sit at. Each table had a different black & white fabric under the centerpiece with a vase of flowers and frames with the bride and groom growing up.

The food was a wonderful mix of bunch items and a delicious cake. Lots of fresh fruit. My favorite was the potato casserole.

The cake was made and decorated by a friend of the bride’s mom. It was a light and fluffy cherry chip cake with the most decedent buttercream frosting.

I don’t have permission to post pictures of the guests but I wanted to show off the gift that I made for the bride. It is a bath towel wedding cake.

The bottom layer is 2 bath towels folded in thirds and rolled. The middle layer is 2 hand towels and the top layer 2 washcloths. To decorate the layers I printed off digital scrapbook paper and made 2″ wide strips. Then added the white grosgrain ribbon. The monogram hand towel was the final touch that really pulled it all together. It took me less than an hour to assemble and decorate the cake. It was also a HUGE hit at the shower.

Have you decorated a gift creatively for a bridal shower?

Remember my crazy weekend? Yea, I barely remember it too! I haven’t finished uploading the pictures, but I wanted to give you a sneak peak of the buffet table, it was a bunch, with lots of fresh fruit and yummy breakfast goodies. The cake was just too adorable for words … the swiss dots, the teeny tiny flower and a ruffle border. Simply marvelous!!

Did you drool over the details at your friends bridal showers before your big day?
