You are now the size of a snow pea. Your heart is beating — almost twice as fast as mine — and you are starting to sprout your arms and legs, which might wiggle by the week’s end.
This is a busy week for you. You are starting to grow your eyes, ears, nose, cheeks and chin. Your intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will eventually grow to your lungs has appeared. Your pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of your brain, muscles, and bones.

I continue to be very tired, but it has been fun telling people this week that you will be here in June.  I did have a blood test to confirm that you really are there, but we won’t get to see you until November 1st.  I had your Dad take a picture of me so that we will be able to see you grow from the outside.  It will be a while before I will start to show, but it will be nice to be able to watch the changes.

I plan to make scrapbook pages with the pictures each week, so that I will have a pregnancy scrapbook to remember these precious days.

My blood was drawn at what I estimate to be 5 weeks 4 days and the number was 964. My midwife didn’t order a repeat beta so I guess I just wait till Nov 1st and see what happens from there. It could just be that my dates are off.  The number is definitely high enough for me to be pregnant! So that is good news, but it still doesn’t ease my fears much.

They also failed to originally tell me the times that the Lab tech is at the office to draw blood. I went Monday after work, but she had already left. I wasn’t able to make it down during the hours on Tuesday (only 9-11 or 1-1:30) so I finally made it in on Wednesday. It is now Friday morning with no results. I hate the waiting game, especially when I see everyone else getting their 3rd draw numbers back.

I still feel pregnant. I have the queasiness, the sore bb’s and constant bathroom trips. I have also had no bleeding so there is no logical reason to think the pregnancy is not progressing normally.   I am just not a logical pregnant woman right now.  I want peace of mind.

A brief history of us.  I have 2 kids from a previous marriage that are 6 & 8 yrs old.  We met February 2007 on a blind date.  We dated for 2 years and he proposed on our 2nd year anniversary. We got married in my parent’s yard 7 months later.   Right before we got married my PCOS raised it’s ugly head. I only had about 5 normal cycles in a 12 month period.   In March 2010 I went to see my midwife who put me on met, provera and femara.  I hated being on the drugs and how they made me feel, but we did 1 unmonitored cycled with Femara in June.  I didn’t get pregnant and AF didn’t show.  I decided to stop the met and not take provera to induce AF.  We took the summer off to focus on other things.

This month I got a surprise BFP! We are anxious and nervous, but hoping to bring home a little bundle of joy in June 2011.

It is October 16th and by my estimation you are five weeks (by gestation).  I just found out today that you are on the way. I had waited testing all week.  Imagine my surprise when those 2 line appeared!

You are now the size of an apple seed or sesame seed, but you look more like a tadpole. When I told your daddy this he said he was going to name you Kermit. I don’t think it will be the final choice once we pick your name, but it is fun to refer to you as “kermmie” right now.

Everything I have been reading says that weeks 5-8 are the most important developmental times during the first trimester. This week you are forming major organs like your heart, kidneys, liver, and stomach as well as your nervous system, circulatory system, and digestive systems. After I took the test yesterday I started eating my prenatal vitamins.

I haven’t noticed any obvious differences yet, but I definitely feel “different” I am making more trips to the bathroom that is for sure. All week I have been so tired. Twice I have fallen asleep before your Daddy has got home from work. I had to drive to Alpine on Friday before I tested and it was a very difficult drive. I felt really carsick and very tired.

The two lines appeared at the same time!  There was no denying that I was seeing two lines!  I called DH immediately at work.  He asked if I was kidding.  I don’t think this is something I would really joke about. Do you?

After he got off work we went to dinner and then I came home and POAS again just to show him.  It also was positive.  Since it was a 3 pack I used the last test on Sunday morning.  I labeled them because they all looked so similar:

I plan to take a digital just so I can see that “pregnant” without the “not” in front of it.  I already called my midwifes office and I have an appointment for Nov 1st.  I asked for blood work before then so I am waiting to hear back from the assistant.  I will feel so much better once I know a number!

AF is still MIA.  I had another midwife appointment today, and another BFN.
I actually didn’t think she would do another test so I emptied my bladder before they called me back.  The nurse did my BP then put me in an exam room.  The U/S machine was on and still had the screen shot of the last patients baby.  It was little, only 8w 5d.  I didn’t cry, so that is good.
My midwife came in and we talked about my cycles since March.  She wants me to up my Met to help with the weight loss.  Then she said she wanted to do a repeat test.  I told her I had already gone and she said they only needed a few drops.  I went and sat in the bathroom and finally got out a few drops LOL.
I stood there while the nurse did the test.  She drove me nuts.  She kept glancing at it and walking away.  Finally after a few minutes she picked it up and tilted the test and squinted at it.  I was gonna scream! I did not need her analyzing the test like that.  I do that enough on my own. Finally she said that it looked negative and so I walked to the check out counter.  My midwife met me there and said that yes it was negative.  She wants me to take provera again to induce AF, but I don’t want too.

Since we are stopping treatment right now I don’t really see any need to make her come.  It is too hot to deal with provera side effects and then deal with AF.

Yesterday they started a fun new contest for the month of July! It is a photo scavenger hunt! I printed out my list of items and it is about 4 pages long right now, they will be adding items during the month as well.  It isn’t too late to join in the fun because you have all month to take your photos and post them.  I can’t wait to get out and start snapping photos with my sign.
